The Daily Chronicle: Barbs cap a perfect week with three wins

In the Western Sun Conference match against Geneva, Tyler Larson (103), James Waters (112), Joe Giuliano (135), Dalton Waite (140), Ryan Crews (145), Sabian Reynosa (152), Russ Diedrich (160), Devon Walker (171), Jacob Bannister (215) and Joe Plote (275) notched wins.



In the St. Charles North contest, Jimmy Hartwig, Larson, Walt, Waters and Guiliano all won by forfeit. Reynosa and Plote both won by fall, and Walker and Joe Long got a win.



Against Plainfield North, Giuliano, Waite, Crews, Reynosa, Walker, Bannister, Plote, Larson, Waters and Brad Cantrell were victorious

Hinsdale Central Tournament

The DeKalb boys wrestling team finished in 10th place in the 24-team Hinsdale Central Whitlach Wrestling Invite Saturday.



Tyler Larson captured first place in the 103-pound division for the Barbs. James Waters took third at 112, Sabian Reynosa (152) and Russ Diedrich (160) both placed seventh and Devon Walker ended in eighth place at 171.

The Daily Chronicle: DeKalb cruises to victory over KHS

At 171 pounds, Devon Walker (7-1) recorded a fall at 1:54. Walker said he wanted to come out aggressive and establish an early momentum in the match. To Pater, Walker has been a shining star thus far, and a vital component to team success.



“I used a double arm bar,” Walker said. “I started with a single but when he started to run it, I grabbed both arms, sat out and pinned him.”
